Dominic has an unusual process when making work.

There is no grand and extraordinary plan on paper for the exquisite pieces that emerge. The ideas can only have been forming in his subconscious over time for he seemingly has little or no idea what will happen when he sets out to work on an enormous block of stone that has arrived from the quarry. He says ‘It happens as I go along, as I work with the stone’. Beautiful and uplifting shapes come to be as he removes, smooths or adds texture to parts, honing down the final form until he is perfectly happy with it.
